Dear Diary, 

This is the last day that I spend in Isil, I'm very sad because I have had a lot of fun here with Blanca's friends.

Yesterday night we didn't enjoy much the concert because I didn't know any song and honestly the musicians weren't very good that's why we're already waken up. We even have had breakfast!

Today my parents are coming to get me to Lleida, so Blanca's parents are going to make a especial lunch for them. I still don't know what it will be but sure it will be very tasty. Following that, we going to a gymkhana all together in the town, and then we going to start our trip to Lleida.

Blanca is coming to Floresta, where I've my second home, another day to visit me. I hope that she will have so much fun as I had here.

Dear Diary

Dear Diary,

Today I woke up very late because I went to sleep at 4:30 a.m., so I didn't have breakfast and I had straight lunch. After that we planned a village tour and we enjoyed taking photos. Blanca brought me to a Bear Museum that facined me because there were explained some facts about the bears.

It was very cold so Blanca and I went back early to her house to eat something and we watched a movie. Since it is the village fet¡stivity we have had a family dinner until the mightnight. Blanca's parents have prepared some delicious dishes, like a majestic salads and veggie stuffed cannelloni. For desert we have eaten a chocolate cake. Now we are very full so later we are going to a Rock concert to help our stomaches settle.

Dear Diary,

Now I'm in Isil, a small village in the Pyrenees. I have come with Blanca, a friend of mine, to celebrathe the night of 'Sant Joan'. 

In Isil there's the tradition of carrying burning logs from the mountain to the center of the village. That's called 'Falles d'Isil'. We put on an old sweater and trousers, boots and an Isil scarf to protect us from the smoke. There are three levels: the oldest ones climb to the top of the mountain and start descending the logs, the middle ones stay on the middle of the mountain to continue, and the youngest ones meet them at the bottom. 

It was the first time that I did it and it was amazing because it's impressive to see so much fire in the darkness. 

I'm sleeping here this week, but I'd like to repeat that event another time! Good night!

Dear Diary,

Today I have decided to start my own diary as part of my English homework. It's the second time that I start one. I wish this diary lasts minimum one month. 

This year I had a lot of fun and learned so much with my teachers and classmates, but now I'm glad it finished because I want to have some rest. 

This summer I hope to have a lot of fun with all my friends and family. I already have some plans: I'm going to Isil to celebrate the night of 'Sant Joan', I'm also going to visit Vielha, and the rest of the time I'm going to spend it in the swimming pool, having some parties and of course learning English!! 

So here I go!

TANIA'S EXPERIENCE

Twenty years fighting for the women rights

Tania, the younger daughter of a Somali family, is now a 35-year-old woman, married with a Catalan man and they have 2 children.

Tania tells us about the last twenty years of her life, this is the real reason of why she's the "Person of the year".

When she was a teenager she left her country, Somalia, because she was a victim of the gender violence from her father and her husband. Actually she didn't want to marry him. After a lot of difficulties and kilometres she arrived to Catalonia.

When she arrived she thought that their own experience must be useful to avoid more cases of gender violence in Africa.

She created the association called AfricanWomenRights. The association's purpose is to collect money from particular people and public institutions to facilitate education to  girls and to get visibility to the International Comunity, as well as to provide safety to the women that feel assaulted.

This association has allowed that thousands of women had a better life and more freedom.

Between the 25th July and the 11th September 1714, the city of Barcelona fell to hands of the Franco-Castilian troops in the War of Succesion to the Hispanic crown.

With this defeat, Catalonia lost its National Government Institutions, Generalitat and Les Corts.

In the Succesion war, people fought to achieve the Hispanic Crowns.

The candidates were Felip V of Borbó and the archduke Carles of Austria.

The winner of the war was Felip V of Borbó after a bleeding battle.

The defeat meant a recentralitzation and a total dependence from Madrid.

Nowadays, in spite of the defeat, Catalonia celebrates this date because it has become a symbol of the Catalonia willigness of wanting to continue existing as a nation.

The 11th September it's the National date in Catalonia.

Along the day there are demonstrations, concerts and informatives. All of them are based on a reclaiming and festive nature.

Many citizens hang a flag or a "estelada" on their balcony.

The hymn of Catalonia is also sung: "Els Segadors".

In the last years a very popular demonstration is made where the independence of Spain is claimed.

My Film Review

GREASE

This film is based in a musical, however we can appreciate this romantic and funny point of view. It occurs in 50s but nowadays we can feel identified with the characters.

One of the best points is the staging, because it's very valuated the details like the convertible cars, the Rock & Roll music, the clothes, the hairstyles, the high school dances, etc. Besides another best point of the film is that the scriptwriter adapts the plot perfectly under the director rules.

Another aspect that spectators like is that the soundtrack is awesome and it captivating you, one of the most popular songs are "Summer nights", "Hopelessly devoted you" and "Look at me, I'm Sandra Lee".  For this many reasons it's a film deserved of the two nominations at the Oscars and at the Golden Gold Award too.

In conclusion, I recommended this film to people that want to spend a great time due to the great soundtrack and also at the amazing performance of the actors.

In the 2nd trimester we work the Picture Differences. We do some exercises: 

 FIND THE 10 DIFFERENCES

1. In picture 1 the duck is looking the chair and  in picture 2 the duck is looking the carpet.

2. In picture 1 the boy is wearing trousers with a patch and in picture 2 he doesn't.

3. In picture 1 the boy is wearing a T-shirt with one line, but in picture 2 the T-shirt has two lines.

4. In picture 1 the boy has a camera with lens but a tpicture 2 he doesn't.

5. In picture 1 the towel has less zigzag than in picture 2.

6. In picture 2 there are more bubbles than in picture 1.

7. In picture 1 the label jar on the capboard is smaller than in picture 1.

8. In picture 1 the door knob is in a different position than in picture 2.

9. In picture 1 there is one more water stain than in picture 2.

10. In picture 2 there is suds at the side of the bathaand at picture 1 there isn't.
